How To Solve and Fix On-Screen Flickering Issue For Android Smartphones

Android smartphone has many features therefore making the device O.S vulnerable to bugs and difference problems.

Another common issue will be looking at today is the On-Screen flickering issue. which has been into existence before or after the introduction of 4.2 Jellybean, 4.4 KitKat, 5.0 Lollipop, 6.0 Marshmallow and 7.0 Nougat. Many are still confused what Flickering issue is;

The On screen Flickering issue is a situation whereby the screen flash and blinks at interval which could not make the phone owner type or see through the screen. This issue is mostly caused by the inability of the operating system (OS) to differentiate between hardware GPU and software CPU.

In Addition, The installation of Old Apps, OS, Cache partition and phone’s brightness can also contribute to the On Screen flicking issue. In this article i will be showing you some steps on how to solve this common issue on your android smartphone.

How To Solve or Fix The Issue Of On-Screen Flickering On Android Smartphones

There are many steps in solving this issue as an Android user is best recommend you try the Developers Option Method;

 

1. Developers Option Method

=> You can enable the developers Option settings by navigating to Settings =>About Device and locate Build Number and tap it up to 6 to 7 times. You will get a message Pop-up saying( ‘You Are Now A Developer!’)

=> Once You done with above step, ,Now Go to Settings => Developer option and under DRAWING, disable “Show Surface Updates” and scroll down to the option “Disable HW Overlays” and enable it.

 

 

This above method will help you use your GPU for screen compositing and will help you eliminate screen flickering.

 

2. Managing Your Screen Brightness

After applying the two options above and the screen flickering issue still appears, you should check up your screen brightness. You’ll find them under your Display Settings. Disable auto-brightness correction or adjusting.

You can also give this a try;

 

3. Rebooting / Restarting Your Device

This fixes the issue at times but you can at first try this method before proceeding with above ones. All you need to do is just;

To Switch Off Your device completely and Leave it to attain a Little rest for Maximum of 10mins to 15mins and then power it on again. This works most a times but not in all cases!.

 

NOTE: After Applying all the above step and the flickering still happens after that, you should consult your warranty or take it to any nearest local store and request for a fix.
